The UN Security Council will hold an emergency session on Wednesday after North Korea said it had successfully detonated a hydrogen bomb. The claim has not yet been confirmed and many experts are already skeptical.

British Prime Minister David Cameron is to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel as part of negotiations over a reformed EU. Earlier, Merkel’s office in Berlin had been sealed off for several hours after a suspicious package was discovered. No explosives were found.
