Heard Donaldson on BBC Radio Ulster Evening Extra. When asked about the EU proposals on the NI Protocol he never once referred to consulting with business to see what they thought, he spoke only of how the proposals related to what the DUP wanted. That's not what we pay him for.

I am afraid you give the UK too much credit on this. It is clear they couldn't care less about Northern Ireland. They are clearly using the protocol as as an excuse to reneg on the withdrawal agreement and then blame the EU for all of the ills of brexit…

Simon, unfortunately nothing will appease those who complain about the (NI) protocol. The only thing that would appease these people is reinstating the border on the island of Ireland and thus there can be no compromise. These are also the people who cheered the Brexit deal.
