I’ve kept close contact with friends in the Yard so know those cranes have only been repainted and been adfforded reactive maintenance. I was up in both 20 years ago and they were in poor enough shape then. Goliath is also damaged and has a reduced weight capacity I think too.

BREAKING: The Trump administration has designated China as a currency manipulator, ratcheting up its trade war by slapping the world’s No. 2 economy with a label no U.S. president has used since 1994 https://t.co/lC57iLXe9E

Global stocks dropped sharply on Monday after China let its tightly controlled currency sink to an 11-year low against the dollar, stoking investors’ concerns that Beijing may be using the renminbi as a weapon in the escalating trade war with the U.S. https://t.co/Fcbbw0Kg2o

This is an incredibly dangerous moment. If the CCP does indeed crack down it could trigger a new global Cold War & Trump's recent comments green-lighting repression will go down in infamy. We should all hope Xi makes the right decision: honor the original deal for Hong Kong. https://t.co/RRGgMH13UW

They fantasize about the apocalypse in the dumbest incarnations (a race war! fiat currency collapse!) but climate change, which is actually is a realistic apocalyptic scenario, is happening now, and they don't care.

In the end Brexit will be reversed because the under 50s overwhelmingly hate it (not to mention a majority of the non-English of all generations) and reversing it will be their cause until that is accomplished. But in the meantime it can do terrible damage.
