Confirming that Twitter is blocking ALL verified accounts from tweeting. They have flipped the switch.
— Scott Stedman (@ScottMStedman) July 15, 2020
The fact that Trump hasn't been hacked suggests to me that the hackers either are sympathetic to him, or that Twitter has extra security around his account for obvious reasons, making it harder to compromise.

Folks waiting on Trump Twitter to be #hacked with Bitcoin deal…
Hackers are smarter than that. They KNOW everyone would dismiss a Tweet by Trump saying 'I am giving back to my community' as being utter bullshit pic.twitter.com/1Lu6ZwI6hR

And that’s why you always keep an unverified alt account devoted to pro wrestling in case Twitter ever shuts down tweets for the checkmarks.

As the Twitter accounts of prominent people/companies are hacked, let's take note of how troubling it is for a president to announce policy decisions (including military threats) on a platform susceptible to intrusions

BORISHAMBLES BRITAIN
Everyone knew it was coming but still a moment. Boris Johnson commits to an independent inquiry into covid response
— Francis Elliott (@elliotttimes) July 15, 2020
“Another Johnson PMQs rocky horror show. A travesty of its true purpose and an insult to the country. People are dying, terrified about the future. And yet to Boris it all still feels like a big game where the only thing at stake is his fragile ego."https://t.co/fRD5an0vsV

If you want to know who’s leading us through a pandemic that’s killed 1 in 1000 Britons and brought the worst recession in 300 years, our prime minister was today asked to give a message to bereaved families and responded with a joke about underpants

What does Johnson do all day? https://t.co/GTB1TJfulS
— Tim Walker (@ThatTimWalker) July 15, 2020
Utterly extraordinary. First the government rewrote the lockdown regulations to retroactively exonerate Cummings. Now they’re risking the lives of people in takeaways to spare the embarrassment of Gove. Never has a British government so openly paraded its corruption or contempt https://t.co/BJz4l1RHXJ
— Jonathan Lis (@jonlis1) July 15, 2020
Boris Johnson & Cummings have thrown their toys out the pram because Chris Grayling didn't get elected chairman of intelligence, & security committee. They have kicked the new chairman, Julian Lewis, out of the parliamentary Tory Party. pic.twitter.com/31wANPMRvT

The chances of the #Russia report being released have gone up after Chris Grayling – Boris Johnson's choice for chair of UK parliament's intelligence and security committee – was ambushed. By @dansabbagh https://t.co/XfNdS5Iza4

So Boris Johnson removes Tory whip from Julian Lewis for his “duplicity” – and for humiliating PM who failed to parachute in his own man. All eyes now on when ISC decides to publish Russia report 👀👀 https://t.co/5by4trMGtq

I’m told Intelligence & Security Committee, after humiliating Boris Johnson & his choice for chairman Chris Grayling by electing Julian Lewis instead, will meet again tomorrow & is expected to agree to publish long-suppressed report on Russian meddling in UK politics next week.

When we talk about the climate emergency or the planetary crisis, we mean all of this, which is why ending fossil fuel use is critical but—by itself—an insufficient plan.
