Kerry, Netanyahu clash over Palestine

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reacted angrily to a speech in which US Secretary of State John Kerry said the so-called “two-state solution” to the Palestinian situation was in jeopardy and that Netanyahu’s coalition government “is the most right-wing in Israeli history with an agenda driven by the most extreme elements.”

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will on Tuesday join President Obama at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, three weeks after the 75th anniversary of the attack in which more than 2,000 Americans died, leading to the nation’s entry into World War Two. Abe will become the first Japanese leader to officially visit the site and is expected to express sympathy for those lost, but not issue any kind of apology. The two leaders will then hold a summit meeting.
